Here at BaByliss Pro HQ we have been discussing trends for 2011. Many of us look at the start of a new year to make some changes in their life: Such as a change of job, a change of diet or even a new style. We’ve had a lot of fun looking through magazines and websites in order to bring you the latest looks. Here are some of our favourites...
The Paul Costelloe show at LFW S/S 11 saw a revival of the beehive with a ‘bed head’ twist. Recreate this look using the BaByliss Pro Mini Crimper to give texture to the hair before back combing and twisting into a soft chignon.
The Hair Knot
One for every season this year, again with a soft ‘bed head’ look.
Twist sections into bunches and, as you would tie your shoe laces, tie your hair into a knot and again into a double knot to ensure it’s secure. This is an easy look for everyday that can be adapted with the use of the BaByliss Pro Triple Barrel Waver to add texture to the hair before tying.
Graduated Colour (Ombre)
For all us girls who haven’t quite got around to getting our roots done – REJOICE! This graduated colour, otherwise known as 'Ombre' does exactly what it says on the tin – darker roots softening and lightening toward the ends.
Drew Barrymore pulls this look off perfectly, keeping it simple and elegant. To keep those locks straight and smooth, may we recommend the BaByliss Pro Advanced Ceramic Styler, Drew?! :)
The Top Knot
Sass & Bide's S/S 11 collection at LFW showed an office favourite here at BaByliss Pro HQ...
Once again, a softened version of the original, we predict this look will be seen a lot throughout 2011. Give this look added texture with the use of the BaByliss Pro Mini Crimper and a little backcombing to bring it bang up to date.
This style is another take on the 'ballet bun' which has been popular with fashionistas in 2010 and is set to be even bigger this year, with the upcoming launch of Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan, starring Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis.
