BaByliss PRO has been building up its acting credentials by playing a crucial role backstage in the production of ‘Me and Orson Welles’, currently in post-production and due for release next year.

The film is a drama about a teenager cast in the Mercury Theatre production of "Julius Caesar" directed by a young Orson Welles in 1937, and features teen fave Zac Efron alongside Claire Danes, Ben Chaplin and rising star Zoe Kazan (grand-daughter of legendary Elia Kazan).

Stylist Karen Cohen used the BaByliss PRO Hot Sticks to create the styles dictated by this era and says, "We love using these for creating our hairstyles particularly re-creating a 'period' feel. ‘Me & Orson Welles’ was set in New York in 1937 where the fashion of the time was Marcel waves and curls, which can be created by using the Hot Sticks.

We tend to put the Hot Sticks in first, then the artist gets dressed and has their make up done. They will then have their hair dressed out, giving the set look time to establish itself, and so last longer than a quick set. This means the hair shouldn't need too much time spent on it from then on (weather conditions permitting!)"
